Now that I finally managed to work with the script some more, I can safely say I'm pretty sure that I'll manage to get at least to 1) and 2) this year still :)

Nope, only managed to reach one of them. (I have scripts finalised well into 2009 now, yay! Now I only need to draw them all ;P) And I'm not telling you which one ;)

Would be so nice though to have 3) or 4) happen around Christmas. That's when I always end up running the most peaceful storylines...

Heh. Maybe next year Christmas, then ...

Originally, long ago when I started this comic, I had hoped/sort of planned to have it finish in November 2009. Well, that won't happen. I wonder how many more years it will take?
Also, I never thought I would make it to 1000 strips, but now I think I probably will. But the numbering scheme I used for the source files on my harddrive only supports 3 digits ... ;P

Hmm, it's Y2K all over again. :/

Oh lord, I had no idea you were such a tease.

I guess it's too late for hoping it's the violence one. Sure do love me some good old fashioned violence.

Well, we're going to see all of them sooner or later. At the current pace, probably later ...

(And welcome to the forums! ;))

You could totally combine them all into one. Well, I dunno about the squire one... But it wouldn't be any kind of stretch to have someone finally decide that violence is the best course of action, and then follow through by killing someone else (or being killed!) in the entrance hall of Dragonore. Death is a pretty definite way out of a comic, after all...

Random, wild speculation:
1) Vincent leaves the comic forever. Comic's name is changed to... Spiky's Wo-- waaaaait a minute... -___-

2) Tonio?

3) pleasedon'tberolandpleasedon'tberolandpleasedon'tberoland

4) Spiky. Fo sho.

1.) Somebody will leave the comic forever...
I think it'll be Stella...dunno why, I really like her and all but she just seems like she could leave any day.

2.) Somebody will be an unexpected squire.
If it's Costin...that is just...sad for the knight, he is ok when he is with Spiky but just plain annoying when he is messing with Vincent.

3.) Blood will be spilled in the entrance hall of Dragonore.
I really hope is the stupid Baron...well dunno, I don't really want him to die, he seems like he sometimes doesn't want to be evil so he might change but if he doesn't...grr

4.) Somebody finally decides that violence is the best course of action.
I truly hope is Vincent, he needs it. Or Tonio, I like Tonio and for some reason Siron is cool too =)

But if I had to choose between the most likely it'll probably be 2 and 4. =)

Why do I have the sudden impression that 3+4 will be solved in the next couple of panels (746ff)..?

I dunno, but Dragonore is quite far away (we're at Thurlow Manor) ;)

Lol Yeah, but Roland is not. Maybe he'll fulfill 3 while he is at Dragonore. =/

And because those two are old, you get not only one, but two new ones:

3.) Blood will be spilled in the entrance hall of Dragonore.

4.) Somebody finally decides that violence is the best course of action.

Okay, so we seem to have hit both 3 and 4 here - 3 being Costin and 4 being Roland (or possibly Vincent in a few pages, but I'd say Roland)

Were 1 and 2 supposed to have happened first? Because that means I either missed them or have forgotten. :(

*thinks*
Or was Vincent the 'unexpected squire' when Sir Lothar taught him all that stuff? The word 'squire' is definitely used.

Okay, so if I'm right we've had 2, 3 and 4 - so what was number one? Was it made obvious and I'm a dunce? Or has someone left and we're just not going to see them again? Was it Tonio? He was offered that awesome chance and then gave it up, that was pretty huge, I could see that as being a mark that he's unlikely to show up again, but I will be sad because I like Tonio.

ak-ryuu? Help? Am I right, close or way off?

Who, me? Let's see .... (I'll quote stuff out of order, because it seems to make sense at this late hour ;))

TheOtherDibbler wrote:

Yeah. I'm too tired to re-read the thread now, but I added the other two later. I think I originally estimated 1 and 2 to happen in 2008, but when I had to cut the update frequency in half, didn't reach those; so I repeated them for 2009 and added the other two. (It's so hard for me to estimate how long it takes to tell the story; I always seem to underestimate the time ...)

TheOtherDibbler wrote:

Yeah. Well, you could say that Vincent, in trying to punch the Baron, resorted to violence too, but I that wasn't what I was referring to back then :)

TheOtherDibbler wrote:

Correct. Nobody guessed that one! ;P

TheOtherDibbler wrote:

Yeah, it might not have been spelled out too clearly in the comic (Vincent asks him to not "ever come near me again" in #750, and Tonio states "You won't hear from me again" in #752).
But I said as much somewhere on these forums, and then made a thread about him where I explained a bit why, and offered to answer unanswered questions.

TheOtherDibbler wrote:

But you haven't even posted in his thread! ;)

Actually, I'm sad about it too, but it had to go this way or Vincent would never have started to change; if he will manage to turn his life around somehow, then it's all because of the things Tonio said, and only because he could be sure that Tonio would be far away and "safe". (Well, it makes sense to me, but I know those guys pretty well ;P)

Woo! Okay, so all the predictions have now come to pass. Very good. :)
(And thanks for the detailed reply.)

And I guess I really should have been on the forum a lot more than I have been over the past several months. I will surely go read the thread about Tonio now. :D
