So, did anyone observe the towel day this year?

Mine was pretty funny. Most of the people chose to ignore the fact that I was carrying a towel with me in the in the work. I was supposed to give a training there, but unluckily that was canceled. Those people would have been newcomers and gotten a nice first impression >;P

At cafeteria exchange between me and the clerk went like:
- so, you have a towel with you?
- yes, 25th of May is towel day
- Really!? (eyes, wide open)
- yeah, really
- then you're properly dressed for the occasion, and the towel hangs nicely on your shoulder

Two of my colleagues are going to join next time if I just remind them on the day before. Too bad that towel day 2008 is during the weekend, so they have to wait until 2009 to show up at work with towel.

But really, most of the people most likely completely missed the fact that I was carrying a towel. Partly because I was doing it casually, not paying any attention to that and partly because it looked like a shirt or fleece while I was carrying it.

So, if you had a towel with you, post about the experiences.

Well, I didn't have to leave the house today, so no interesting experiences from me this year. But from the past, I can confirm the effect that if you just carry your towel as if it were the most normal thing in the world, then people will just not even notice. Or if they do notice, their mind just blanks it out because it is so illogical that it cannot be true, or something. Classic SEP field :)

Umm... What?
Seriously, never heard of it, and not sure I want to. There are enough weirdos running around here without turning it into a Hitchiker's Guide convention >.>

I had to have a towel at school that day anyway, I'm doing swimming in PE. And there was nothing interesting about it at home either.

Thankfully not!

Some of my friends half got towel day right... they wore ties... (Friday's Tieday!) Only a couple people knew about towel day!

I missed the towel day and then kicked myself in the back when I realized it. :(
Next year, I'll take a backpack full of towels with me to make sure other people honor the occasion, too.

Ha, I heard of this...though, only too late, unfortunately. I suppose it was better publicised in other places.

Awww... You make me so sad. If I had known about it ahead of time I could have gotten all of my friends to wear towls. And that means about half my school, and most of the teachers. I have to wait for 2009 too. You make me cry.

I always forget when towel day is! :(

I also forget when talk like a pirate day is, but I've got a notice about it up on my wall now, and it's marked on my calendar - I shall not forget it this year!
