I always get screwed up with timezones especially with webcomics! I'm in the central timezone and none of the comics I read update at central time... oh well its clearly my fault for living here. :P

Think positive! You can have updates around the clock! :D

Once, I was looking for 24 Webcomics, each one in a different timezone. That project was soon stopped due to lazyness... ,)

This week: Vote for SHD-WK at Webbed Comics, please? :) It was so nice to be at #3 for a week, can we get it back there again? Remember, you can vote daily! Thanks!

Also, I updated the initial post in this thread with the new vote incentives for TWC and bCx, although they aren't online yet.

I have a question!

Do you think the fact that SHD-WK is listed on several top lists is easy to overlook? Do you think many people only scan the site for the standard toplist buttons without ever reading any text? Am I missing out on thousands of votes by refusing to have the buttons on the main page?

(The buttons can always be seen here, if you want to see the rank - but the bCx rank buttons have been broken since forever, and TWC and Webbed are down fairly often, so I really don't want them on the main page, as the main page wouldn't load properly if one of the vote buttons doesn't.)

I just received a request that I please add SHD-WK to TWC, and I am just genuinely puzzled about it ...

(We're back in the top 50 on TWC too! Yay! An extra thanks to all who voted today :))

I'm not so much into Top lists and buttons, and those four buttons you have listed wouldnt motivate me to click. I'm not sure if i'd click at all, but your constant begging keeps me going ,) (and the fairly high position of shd...)

I'd really do prefer the current version (Text links of the top lists) to graphical buttons. They dont suit the layout of this site.

I personally like the links. I don't think that too many people who would vote that miss out just because there aren't any graphics that lead them there. I'm guessing the kind of person who only reads the comic but not anything else would be a consistent voter.
But with keeping the links, you could put some right under the comic. That's where more or less all reader's eyes will be when they are finished reading the comic.

Hmmm, that's what I considered at first during the latest redesign, but then I thought I'd prefer to keep all the links together (I want at least the Spiky's World on the main page too, and preferably the link to my ComicSpace page), so I decided to put them all together in that yellow box over to the right... I think even the four voting links probably wouldn't fit under the comic, not with the current design at least :)

Thinking about how to tweak the current design without re-doing the whole thing is still on my to-do list ;) (One of the points is considering putting the main menu, now at the bottom, up top -- I wouldn't really like it being at the top, but quite many people totally miss it at the bottom.)

Just another reminder -- a new vote has started, the major toplists have been reset, and now your votes really make a difference!

Goals for June are the same as for May ... to reach #3 on Webbed Comics, and the Top 50 at TWC and bCx.

Thanks to all who are voting! Remember, you can vote daily :)

I wonder what happened to Webbed Comics, they've been gone for two days now ... anyone heard anything?

This is the monthly reminder that the big toplists have been reset, and for a short while, your votes really will make a difference:

TopWebComics
buzzComix

These two are the most important. Vote early, vote often ;)

There's also Webbed, but they changed stuff around and I don't get their ranking system anymore (I'm at #4 at the time of this writing, but have more votes than #2 and #3 ...). Vote there anyway? ;)

Thank you!

I haven't posted the vote incentives in this thread anymore, but this time I had so much fun making them that I just have to:

buzzComix
TopWebComics

It's Vincent (the Second Life version of him) all covered in drakelets!

(I like the buzzComix one better out of the two, I think.)

New vote incentives posted: older drawings of Spiky in "angry mode". Those are too big to fit on the scanner, so I had to take low-quality photos instead ;>

buzzComix
TopWebComics

Vote, please? :) It's a new month and the lists have been reset ... Thanks!
